Why study BTEC Graphics and Textiles?

Careers in the design sector are exploding as designers are forming a part of virtually every industry segment today.

Studying any aspect of design will allow you to develop an understanding of how the values of society affect the design of the complete environment. Working through a range of materials and outcomes will enable you to choose your ideal pathway for further study.

To study at Cowley Sixth Form College, you must have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent, graded 9 – 4, across four separate subjects, including GCSE Mathematics and English Language.

In addition, a positive college interview is required.

This course is assessed through internal and external assessment. There are four main projects delivered throughout the two-year course.

The majority of our students go on to further education and study a creative subject, such as: Architecture, Animation, Graphic Design, Product Design, Theatre Costume, Fashion Design and Interior Design.

Fashion and Graphics gives you a lot of creative freedom. You can produce work digitally or on paper. You don’t have to be good at drawing, the course is open to everybody.
