Wellbeing

At Cowley Sixth Form, our students’ wellbeing is one of our main priorities. We adopt a tiered approach identifying a student’s needs and providing more intensive support where needed.

Wellbeing support is embedded in the culture and ethos of the whole college and we recognise the ability of all our staff to provide assistance.

Our students’ Guidance Tutors and Personal Progress Tutors allow learners to access wellbeing support.

Events take place in college that promote mental health (eg. World Mental Health Day and Time to Talk Day) and the Personal Development Programme also plays a part, with Curriculum 4 Life sessions taking place every Wednesday morning. In these sessions we will help students develop coping mechanisms, positive self-esteem and resilience while learning academic content.

Kooth – Access support from other young people and professionals, all at your own pace.

Stem4 – Stem4 is a charity that promotes positive mental health in teenagers and those who support them including their families and carers, education professionals, as well as school nurses and GPs through the provision of mental health education, resilience strategies and early intervention. This is primarily provided digitally through an innovative education programme, pioneering mental health apps, clinically-informed website and mental health conferences that contribute to helping young people and those around them flourish.
