BTEC Travel and Tourism

The study of Travel and Tourism aims to develop a student’s knowledge and experience in geography, customer service and employability skills.

The objective of the course is to open doors to enable students to move directly to employment or progress onto university.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To study at Cowley Sixth Form College, you must have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent, graded 9 – 4, across four separate subjects, including GCSE Mathematics and English Language.

In addition, a positive College interview is required.

Travel and Tourism is a growing global industry and it is an ideal choice of subject if you are wanting to combine work with travel in a future career. The course will develop key skills such as creativity, problem solving, communication, and business management which are transferable into the world of employment.

There is a combination of internal and external assessment.

Many students who study Travel and Tourism go on to complete a degree in areas such as international tourism management, marketing or hospitality.

Britain will have a tourism industry worth over £257 billion by 2025 and supporting almost 3.8 million jobs. With these huge figures in mind, it’s not hard to see why this course is so popular!
